Intention and and the power of choice - these have been on my mind this summer. Some choices are ours, and some are up to others - we’re dependant upon a reaction to our actions for many of our next steps in life. I’m learning to be accepting of this.
My study of movement this spring left me with an expanded arsenal of mark-marking techniques - I broke my old habits, and am now enjoying some new ones. I’m taking more risks, and am better expressing my energy both in life and in these works.
These newest paintings, although not a series, reflect my ongoing effort to be present - to allow things to take their course while also allowing myself to shape things through decisions.
